The Quebec Federation of Labor (FTQ) will not provide voting instructions to its 600,000 members in anticipation of the provincial election. However, it launches an advertising campaign and prepares a comparison of the promises of political parties.

Its advertising campaign in the mainstream media, which inspired for example the CAQ government’s willingness to provide more space for the private health sector, ends with the slogan: We already have a lot of it.

Also, leaders of major political parties are invited to meet at the management office of FTQwhich brings together representatives of the major unions affiliated to the central.

So far, meetings have been held with two leaders: Paul St-Pierre Plamondon, of Parti Québécois, and Gabriel Nadeau-Dubois, of Québec solidaire, the central union said on Thursday.

The Board of Directors is awaiting a response from the other leaders, François Legault, Dominique Anglade and Éric Duhaime.

There is no question that the FTQ supports a political party in this instance. He’s done it before, but it’s been a long time, it says.

On the other hand, the big central will make a table that will set out the commitments of the major parties on important issues.

It commissioned surveys targeted at the desire to reinvest in health care, the fight against climate change and the improvement of the education network as special interests.

The summary table will be updated and published on the Quebec Federation of Labor website.

One of the goals of our campaign is not to tell workers who to vote for, but instead to pay attention to government decisions that do not meet Quebecker’s priorities and the issues we want to see. they make real promisesSecretary General’s comment FTQDenis Bolduc.
