The union, which represents 1,800 engineers working for the Quebec government, continued negotiations with the Treasury Board.
The Professional Association of Quebec Government Engineers (APIGQ) went on strike on April 22, then returned to the negotiating table in Quebec. The talks were then cut short again on May 31, and APIGQ launched a second strike on June 1.
However, the two parties have publicly announced that they are a hair from an agreement on May 31.
However, negotiations resumed with the Treasury Board. The parties are still being discussed Thursday afternoon.
The main point in the dispute has to do with compensation.
About 1,200 of these 1,800 engineers work in the Ministry of Transport. Others work in the Ministry of Environment or are distributed to other ministries.
Therefore, strong pressure is felt in road construction areas. Many contractors have already complained about the impact on them of this strike by engineers.
