The actress Anne Casabonne will be the candidate of the Conservative Party of Quebec in the riding of Iberville in the next provincial election, learned Radio-Canada.
The announcement will be made Tuesday evening during the tribute ceremony for MP Claire Samson, who recently announced her retirement from political life.
Anne Casabonne represented the colors of the Conservative Party during the by-election in the riding of Marie-Victorin last April, won by Shirley Dorismond of the Coalition avenir Québec.
When announcing her candidacy, Ms. Casabonne said she believed in the freedom of expression and denounced the moral which prevented, according to her, from questioning the management of the health crisis by the Legault government, in particular the imposition of the vaccine passport.
After his defeat, several media had announced his candidacy in the riding of Charlesbourg in the fall. She finally gave it up after an agreement with the Conservative Party.
