The splinters have arrived. And the spicy match between Argentina and the Netherlands had its first downfall. And it could be the least expected. Or the one that causes the least collateral damage. Is that, this Sunday, FIFA announced that Gerónimo ‘Momo’ Benavides, who called the lineup and harangued the fans before each match, will no longer be the voice of the stadium.

“Unfortunately today FIFA informed me that I will no longer be the voice of the stadium when the national team plays, without many explanations they made me understand which part is due to what happened against the Netherlands”. in his Twitter account where he has more than 500,000 followers.

“This thread is just to thank those who have supported me, to apologize to those who feel I have let them down, or perhaps they have not felt that I have done what I was supposed to do right from my humble place. I have sincerely tried to be the voice of each of you, as Argentinian as possible, without reciting it, feeling it and expressing myself as you would, being one more as always”, continued the young man who in 2021 was chosen as streamer of the year.

“So far this beautiful fucking work has come, I hope I have not disappointed you and you will see me blogging everywhere, cheering as always, singing as always, because the important thing is that Argentina reaches the top, not my role, I was a little link of something nice,” he concluded in his Twitter thread.

Until that moment everyone thought that Momo was paying for the crossing between Argentine footballers and the Dutch. But, in the last few hours, a video has appeared where the young man was exultant.

“We have two huge eggs! We screwed up everyone who wanted to screw us up. FIFA wanted to screw us! Hello Holland…”, says the streamer, totally excited for the national team’s triumph.

A few hours later, before moving the files involving Argentine footballers, he decided to do without the streamer’s services.
