A judge has rejected a petition from a group of South Florida residents concerned about the noise that will be released from next month’s Formula 1 event.

Some Miami Gardens residents mentioned that the Miami Grand Prix, which will take place May 6-8 around Hard Rock Stadium, home of the Dolphins in the NFL, could affect their hearing.

Miami-Dade County Judge Alan Fine, however, ruled Wednesday that the evidence presented by residents was speculation is high and any health concerns can be avoided by staying indoors or by wearing earplugs.
