The information surfaced the day the Bills resumed practice after Hamlin collapsed from cardiac arrest. The chilling episode occurred right after the player knocked down an opponent in the first quarter of Monday night’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

An ambulance took Hamlin to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. The player, who is in his second year in the NFL, has spent the last few days sedated. The latest reports indicated that he was still in critical condition.

The Bills prepare to host the New England Patriots on Sunday. They will try to focus on the match, at a time when many players are still in shock from watching their partner collapse.

Following the suspension of play on Tuesday, the Bills returned to Buffalo. The next day, they held meetings and practiced without physical contact or allowing the press to participate.
