Lou Lou Taylor, the South African actress who grew up in Los Angeles, was one of the victims of a seal attack on Clifton Beach on Wednesday 4, which quickly went viral through a video circulating on social media.
The ‘Raised by Wolves’ actress was one of two victims of a seal attack on Cape Town’s famous beach. One boy was attacked first before the seal approached Taylor and started attacking her.
As reported by the site The citizen, the animal bit her six times and after the attack she was rushed to the emergency room. Taylor used his stories of instagram to share his ordeal with his followers.
“Be careful when swimming in Clifton! A seal attacked me in the water and bit me 6 times which required an ER visit and strong antibiotics. They have big teeth. Thank you to those who helped me in and out of the water,” the actress wrote.
The actress also shared an update on her injuries later Wednesday and said she was on the mend.
“Status update! I’m getting better. The recent increase in seal attacks is related to an algae bloom that releases a neurotoxin that triggers aggressive behavior. What could be causing the algae bloom? Most likely global warming or water pollution,” the actress wrote.
The video that publicized the seal attack begins innocently enough with the pup diving into the water, but then cuts directly to a boy frolicking in the waves as other swimmers ask the boy to get out of the water .
Within seconds, unfortunately, the seal is above and begins to attack him before passers-by drag the boy to shore.
But the seal’s rampage is far from over. The animal swims to deeper water where Taylor floats in the water and starts savagely attacking her as he screams in terror.
The protagonist of “The Flat Tire” he tries to fight the frantic sea mammal, but he can’t get rid of the animal. so several swimmers run into the sea to save her. Eventually, she is pulled to safety as a man grabs her seal by her tail and throws her back into the water.
According to Taylor’s Instagram story, she was “bitten 6 times which required an ER visit and strong antibiotics.”
“The animal was molested”
News24 interviewed Dune Spence-Ross, an official at the Hout Bay Seal Rescue Center, who commented that the seal was being stressed out by a crowd of people surrounding him. And that the now-viral video of the seal attack doesn’t show that part.
“Any predator surrounded and harassed like the seal would have reacted the same way, but obviously the video doesn’t show the part where the seal is being stressed out by a crowd of people surrounding it. Yesterday the swimmers were lucky… it was just a puppy of about 12 months, which apparently weighed no more than 10 kg.
“Had it been an adult seal, the titles would have been very different,” Spencer-Ross said.
Actress Lou Lou Taylor is not only known for her roles in Raised by Wolves, Detour and Farah going Bang but she is also a classically trained dancer and artist.
According to his IMDB biography, his Hungarian mother was a refugee from the Soviet invasion of Eastern Europe in 1956, while his British-Zambian father is an award-winning television and commercial director and documentary filmmaker.
He also has an older brother, Misha Taylor, who is an award-winning fashion photographer, Citizen says.
