Due to the instance, the quality of the rival and the beauty and strength of the whole game before the definition of Angelito, no doubt that that goal will remain in the gallery of the best in the history of the World Cup.

Nahuel Molina, Julián Álvarez, Lionel Messi, Alexis Mac Allister and Di María himself combined in a lethal counterattack with which the national team moved from their own area to the opponent’s in ten seconds and made it 2-0.

Less than a month after that dramatic finale, the memory is still fresh and the Albicelesti public continues to strongly remember the title.

For instance, a group of young people who, on holiday by the sea, recreated the 2-0 goalwith the emotional addition that Rodolfo De Paoli’s story gives him on the images of the video they uploaded to TikTok.

Argentina overtook France, to the point that Deschamps was forced to make two changes in the first half. Beyond Mbappe’s goals and the already well-known suffering outcome, Scaloni’s team shone and still today continues to generate pride in those first 70 minutes and, above all, that great goal by Di María.

FIFA did not include him in the Top 10

FIFA has compiled a ranking of the ten best goals of the World Cup and invited the public to choose the winner, having to access FIFA+ and vote online.

Surprisingly, Di María’s goal did not appear in that Top 10although that of another Argentinian (Enzo Fernández against Mexico) and one who has received the selection (Salem Al Dawsari, from Saudi Arabia).

The 10 chosen by FIFA were as follows: Salem Al Dawsari vs. Argentina, Richardson vs. Serbia and vs. South Korea, Cody Gakpo vs. Ecuador, Enzo Fernandez vs. Mexico, Vincent Aboubakar vs. Serbia, Luis Chavez vs. Saudi Arabia, Kylian Mbappé vs. Poland, Paik Seung-Ho vs. Brazil and Neymar vs. Croatia.

The winner, after the voting that closed on December 22, was Richarlison with his impressive pirouette against Serbia: he receives a pass from Vinicius that makes him uncomfortable, controls it and, while the ball is in the air, turns around and settles it with a powerful Chilean half.
