The FIFA Disciplinary Commission opened this Friday a disciplinary case against the Argentine Football Federation (AFA) for the possible violation of articles 11 (offensive conduct and violation of the principles of fair play) and 12 (misconduct of players and officials) of the Disciplinary of the FIFA Code, in the World Cup final between Argentina and France.

On December 18, Argentina was proclaimed world champion after beating France on penalties after 3-3 after extra time. During the celebrations on the pitch, some players made gestures that prompted complaints from the French Football Federation (FFF), which regretted the “anomalous” provocations towards Kylian Mbappé.

In addition, the FIFA Disciplinary Commission notified the federations of Ecuador, Mexico and Serbia of the sanctioning of various financial penalties for the songs and inappropriate behavior of their fans during the World Cup in Qatar.

In doing so, the Ecuadorian Football Federation will face a fine of 20,000 Swiss francs (19,943 euros) as well as taking on the sanction of closing part of its stadium (the stands behind the goals) “because of the choirs”. of his fans during the match played against Qatar.

For its part, the Mexican Football Federation must pay a fine of 100,000 Swiss francs (99,715 euros) and will have to play a match behind closed doors (a penalty that FIFA suspends during a trial period) for the chants of its fans during the trial period . Matches Mexico-Poland and Saudi Arabia-Mexico.

Finally, the Serbian Football Federation was sanctioned with a fine of 50,000 Swiss francs (49,857) and with the closure of a part of its stadium (25 percent) for non-compliance with articles 13 (discrimination) and 12 (misconduct of players) of the FIFA disciplinary code for the chants “and inappropriate conduct” of its fans during the Serbia-Switzerland match.
