In the message that was released through Pelé’s social networks, Aoki took the opportunity to “say thank you very much” for the demonstrations of support received after the ex-footballer’s death on December 29.

“Says goodbye to those I love and it will take some time to get used to not having the reason for my life by my side, his love full of affection, his unique humor and his complicity…”, said the widow of the man considered by many to be the best footballer of all time who died at the age of 82, a victim of complications from colon cancer.

“Although knowing that this is an inevitable destination for everyone, the awareness that this moment has arrived for me is the sensation of an empty space, of absence, that presses on my chest”, added the entrepreneur.

Aoki also took advantage of the open letter to thank the hundreds of fans who still pay tribute to Pele today, as well as the Santos club, where “o rei” was immortalized and in whose stadium he was fired.

“There is also another feeling, of strong gratitude for having been able to share my pain with the whole world. We have received millions of messages of affection and solidarity, which have filled our hearts with comfort and peace,” she said.

According to the widow, Sharing life with Pelé was living a true story of a unique love, as well as sharing the love of the footballer with the fans. “This love will never die and will continue between us. Eternally,” she concluded.

Pelé was also married to Rosimeri Cholbi, with whom he had three children (Edinho, Jennifer and Kely) and to Assyria Nascimento, with whom he had twins (Joshua and Celeste).

One of the latest tributes to Pelé took place on Saturday at the Mané Garrincha stadium in Brasilia in front of the 56,000 fans who watched the duel between Palmeiras and Flamengo for the Supercopa do Brasil title and saw the participation of Jennifer and Kely, as well as leaders of Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF).
