More than 300,000 members and a stadium with a capacity of just over 50,000. A repeated scenario, a candy box full in every game of the last two-time local champion and the goal that becomes a chimera: go and see Mouth. After a premiere at Professional league (with victory against Atlético Tucumán) with bleachers are overflowing at Brandsen 805, the city’s Ministry of Security has asked the club for a filter to reduce the portion of members who can access Sunday’s match against Central Córdoba. And so it happened, with complaints, of course.

After the first day game at home, he was the agent Celsa Victoria Ramirez – He always deals with matters related to sporting events – that he launched an inquiry to find out if there was more audience than allowed. This came out after seeing corridors with more people, with season-ticket holders who didn’t have their seats and entrances to the stadium which, after the bad actions of Operation Security, ended again with riots. Something, the latter, which was repeated throughout 2022 and which puts the internal politics which compares the Municipality with the current management of Boca.

Offers and political interests aside, the Security have asked the club to put a filter for the next match (something common in Copa Libertadores matches and also for matches against River or decisive ones) and which always generates discomfort in the members. In an election year, every such decision has its consequences. Thus, the club put like requirement for having gone to 12 of their last 15 home games: the reason? That only in this 2023 can the match against Atlético Tucumán be taken. The club, likewise, risks a fine and a warning which, if repeated, could lead to the partial closure of the stadium.

Even with part of the tickets allocated adherent members, and although in this management spaces that were stalls have been recovered and become popular in the third tray of the North headboard, the place is still small. And reopen the debate on the stadium expansion, something Boca fans have always leaned towards and demonstrated. They also voted for it by electing Jorge Ameal and Mario Pergolini, emphatic in their idea of 360 candy boxexpansion project delayed in the first years of management due to the pandemic and which will enter the Legislature this year.

Why would he go that way first? The thing is even with the two half-blocks to widen the field (with the economic difficulties involved in obtaining them), Boca will need a building permit for the change of use of that surface. “It would be imprudent for us to start a work that then stops,” they confided clarion from the club. And he returned to the magnifying glass on the subject of politics: “I hope that the subject will be addressed without hindering the party system and that the opposition will support the idea of expanding our stadium as we all want”.

That’s the idea of driving Daniel Angelici was always the one who left the Bombonera behind and build a new, modern and bigger stadium, but in another place. Or at least this was the situation until the weeks preceding the elections, when the Gribaudo-Crespi formula presented a “100 thousand Bombonera” project, with a proposal that had not been mentioned in the 8 years of previous management.

For now the only candidate in the December elections who has expressed himself in this sense has been George Royalwho in addition to knowing that the proposal for a new stadium does not generate followers among the members, proposes a new stadium in Demarchi Island, in front of La Boca. Meanwhile, the club’s 315,000 members will go by the day with the same goal: get a seat at Brandsen 805.
