This year they will meet 160 years since the birth of modern football, when the Football Association was created in a London tavern and after two months of deliberations the basic rules of the sport were established which spread throughout the world and became the most popular. First it was a cup competition (the FA Cup), then the championship and gradually international tournaments began, sometimes binational, other home runs, then bicontinental, up to the modern FIFA Club World Cupwho just won for the fifth time the real Madrid.
In this round of international competitions throughout history, the Spanish club is the one that has won the most titles, 32. It is also the one with the most world titles, because it won three when Europe-South America was played (1960 – it was the first champions (1998 and 2002) and now has five since FIFA took over, first in 2002 and continuously since 2005.
While for a long time the champion clubs of the weakest confederations have been invisible, i.e. all but Europe and South America, the reality indicates that the second club with the most titles is Al Ahly Cairo of Egypt, which accumulates 28.
In third place and shared with Barcelona from Spain, the Argentine first team appears: Mouth with 22 titles. Milan from Italy and Nacional from Uruguay have one less, while in seventh place there Independent with 20. That is, in the top seven there are two Argentine teams.
The Club World Cup that just concluded in Morocco closed the 2021/22 season. It is usually played in December, but this time it was postponed to February due to the World Cup being played in Qatar. From May this year until December there will be new champions and the ranking could be changed, even if for now no one will be able to take the reign from Real Madrid.
