Werner took advantage of Rossi’s abandonment to win the first race of Turismo Carretera 2023

The pilot of Entre Ríos Mariano Werner (Ford) took advantage of the Buenos Aires native’s abandonment this Sunday Matthias Rossi (Toyota) in the final section of the race and ended up with victory in the final of Road tourism (TC), which took place in the city of Viedma, for the first round of the 2023 season in the most important category of Argentine motorsport.

The 34-year-old from Paraná had taken pole position, but finished second in the race held at the Río Negro circuit with 4,118 meters of rope.

At the end of lap number 21 of the 25 scheduled, the native of Del Viso who was leading the standings suffered an unexpected ‘puncture’ to the engine, which caused his automatic abandonment with the unit of the Japanese brand.

In this way, Werner had the clear road to take the victory, in an accumulated time of 41 minutes. 09s. 667/1000, at an average of 150.069 kilometers per hour.

The champion in the 2020 and 2021 seasons achieved his 22nd victory in ?teceista? and equaled the line of the emblematic Carlo Alberto Pairettipassed away last year, after dazzling with ‘Orange Thunder’, in the 60s.

Santiago Alvarez (Dodge), born in the small town of Ferré, finished in ninth place, while another from Buenos Aires Elio Craparo (Dodge), of Chacabuco, finished tenth, after battling for fourth position with Castilian AND Catalan Magni.

The current champion, the Rio Negro José Manuel Urcera (Turin), designed from below an excellent career. The number 1 started from position 53 (he was penalized for a series touch against Martín Vázquez) and finished fourteenth.

I also deserve the work of La Plata Gastone Mazzacane (Chevrolet), which started in the 40th. position and finished thirteenth.

The league positions were as follows: Werner 47 points; Spanish 41.5; Catalan Magni 38; Lambris 34; Add it 33.5; Todino 32.5; Gini 30.5; Alvarez 30; Ledesma and Craparo 29.5.

The next race will be on Sunday, March 5 at the Parque Provincia de Neuquén racetrack.
