With the tranquility that triumphs bring, the satisfaction of closing a positive streak and the certainty of knowing the aspects to correct, the manager of River, Martin Demichelishe acknowledged that -despite the win against Tiger this allows him to be three behind the leader: his team lacks offensive weight.

In any case, he highlighted his team’s defensive work and the fight that beat his rival in the center, aspects that he believed were essential to conquer the three victory points.

“We took risks and always went looking for him, I liked it. We pushed forward, never backwards. We had an excellent first half which lacked the last details: a cross, a shot, a dribble, a control. I conclude satisfied, because we won against a great rival”, praised the DT of River.

But Demichelis reflected even more on the beaten rival. Not in a general way, but in detail. “In my opinion, Tigre has the best strikers in Argentine football: (Mateo) Retegui and (Facundo) Colidio. And this increases our defensive work,” he observed.

“I know there is still a lack of offensive volume. The history of River requires much more, but today it is important,” he celebrated moderately.

“I keep stressing that we played against one of the best in Argentine football from an attacking point of view. River hadn’t won against Tigre for many years. That’s why the victory is of great importance,” he recalled.

“At half-time I told them that there were few things to change. The match opened due to a set ball. The last match we started down due to a stoppage. That’s it, I’m happy that the thing Leandro went well (González Pirez, scorer) because he’s playing less (compared to his teammates)”, he distinguished himself.

“During the week I have to divide the group to work and after training on Thursday I still hadn’t finished defining the team. The two groups did exactly the same exercise and I can take (players) from both groups. The fan has a knowing that the whole group is giving themselves phenomenally.”

“I had to decide if Joni (for Jonatan Maidana) would play today or Wednesday (with Banfield) and I chose to put Leandro (González Pirez) who has the characteristics of a fast and aggressive player, like Enzo (Díaz) and Robert Rojas”, has explained.
