Mourning engulfed football in Brazil this Sunday when it was reported that Jian Kayo Gomes Soaresthe young man 21 year old goalkeeper of Ituano who had played for San Paolo, was found dead at home.
The news was confirmed by the San Paolo club that plays in Serie B. On their Twitter account, they published an image of the player announcing his death from causes that do not transcend.
“With great sadness and consternation, Ituano FC announces the death of athlete JIAN KAYO GOMES SOARES. His body was found lifeless in his home on Saturday night,” the institution wrote.
And they added in this regard: “As soon as possible, after the release by the authorities and the Family, we will disclose more information”.
The young archer’s death is under investigation. However, local media reported that the athlete had been dealing with depression for some time.
Although currently part of Ituano, Jian Kayo had started his sporting career in the lower ranks of São Paulo, where until recently he was considered the third goalkeeper of the first team.
It was he who made the decision to start a new path at Ituano FC with the aim of gaining experience, showing off and attracting the attention of other clubs.
Due to the close bond that has united them for years, St. Paul echoed the news shortly after the announcement of his death and expressed his sadness for what happened.

Corinthians was one of them, who posted on their Twitter account: “The athlete Jian Kayo Gomes Soares, of Ituano Futebol Clube, passed away on Saturday night. Sport Club Corinthians Paulista regrets and expresses its solidarity with the family and to friends”.
Vasco da Gama added to his words: “We are deeply sorry for the death of Ituano goalkeeper Jian Kayo. We wish strength to family and friends,” the club tweeted.
Santos did the same, adding: “Santos FC deeply regrets the death of @ituanooficial goalkeeper Jian Kayo Gomes Soares. Much strength to the club, family and friends of the athlete.”
