Argentina-Panama: the police confiscated tickets, mobile phones and money from the national team’s match retailers

The municipal police filed a complaint against five men and a woman for reselling tickets for next Thursday’s match between Argentina and Panama, at the Monumental stadium.

The personnel of the Judicial Actions Department of the Municipal Police, involved in the ticket collection service at the River Plate stadium, seized the first six tickets since the beginning of the operation.

In all cases, after having identified the offenders, the Special Prosecutor for Major Events, presided over by Dr. Celsa Ramírez, ordered the seizure of the entrance and the preparation of the report for violation of article 108 of the Contravention Code of the City of Buenos Aires, which sanctions the resale of tickets.

In one of the events, the agents arrived at the exact moment of the resale, so they not only confiscated the ticket but also 33,100 pesos and a cell phone. In another case, involving two men, their tickets, two cell phones and 95,000 pesos were confiscated.

In all the episodes, the offenders were told that if they reoffended they would incur a violation of article 239 of the penal code, regarding disobedience to a public official, which provides for imprisonment from 15 days to one year.

Last Thursday, more than one and a half million people queued up to access the almost sixty thousand tickets that the Deportick company has put on sale for the match that will be played at the Monumental Stadium. The operation was resolved in just over two hours, but from Monday long queues formed at the River stadium where physical tickets to access Thursday’s match began to be delivered.

The rest of the enrollments that will complete the more than eighty thousand seats available at the renovated Monumental have been made by agreements with companies and also by protocol.
