Atlanta expands and reaches the Chacarita district: the Government gives away 2,500 square meters of land

The announcement was made Thursday morning. In this way Atlanta grows and fully enter the neighborhood of Chacaritawhen crossing the other side of the San Martín train track, a line that separates two neighborhoods with a strong football pike.

The agreement, signed by the club and the State Heritage Administration Agency, grants bohemians permission to use the stretches of low road located between via Otero and via Iturri.

The purpose of this permit is, according to reports from Atlanta, to create there a sports and social integration space “that makes room for the sporting and inclusive demand that the community has”.

In that place it is planned to build “several sectors of multiple uses, which will contemplate basketball courts, volleyball courts, children’s football, buffets, toilets and other facilities“, the institution reported.

The document signed in the AABE also grants permission to Atlanta for the use of the national state-owned sectors, in the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Transportation – SE Railway Infrastructure Administration, including one of them in the area of ​​the San Martín branch , between the stations of Villa Crespo and La Paternal, between Av. Dorrego and via Iturri, and another one in the square of the station of Villa Crespo (formerly called Chacarita), in Municipality 15 of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires.

The approximate area of ​​all these lands is two thousand five hundred and fifty nine square meters (2,559 sq m).

The signatures that endorsed the agreement were those of Eduardo Albanese (President of the AABE) and Matias Federici (Director of Community Affairs of the AABE), both on behalf of the National State. While for Atlanta the president Gabriel Greco put his signature, accompanied by the directors Pablo Bermúdez, Pablo Lachener and the partner Juan Manuel Suarez.

Atlanta has grown exponentially since the end of the 2000s and has become, since the recovery of its headquarters located in Humboldt Street, a space for family use in an area with a high population density.

The national and Buenos Aires governments signed an agreement on Wednesday for an 11 million dollar land that was ceded in 2019 to the city of Buenos Aires and which will finally remain in the orbit of the nation.

The process for the recovery of the 86.7 hectares had been initiated by Alberto Fernández, when in 2020 he commissioned the State Assets Administration Agency (AABE) to initiate judicial proceedings against the administration of Horacio Rodríguez Larreta.

This is one of the fronts opened by the current President against the management of the head of government of Buenos Aires, parallel to the discussion for the amounts of participation.

The properties had been sold during the presidency of Mauricio Macri to complete the payment of an international loan signed by the national government to finance part of the construction of the Paseo del Bajo. The Nation has transferred that debt to the Municipality, but also the land to be sold and paid for.

But that transfer never materialised, because the nation, already with Alberto Fernández as president, blocked transfers to City.

Finally, this Wednesday, the agreement to return the properties to the national sphere was signed by the Minister of Public Works of the Nation, Gabriel Katopodis; by the president of the AABE, Eduardo Albanese; and by the Minister of Treasury and Finance of the City, Martín Mura. The Ministry of the Interior and the Deputy Chief of Staff also took part in the negotiations.

Among the lands of the City that fall within the sphere of the Nation there are eight buildings located in the Mugica district and surroundings; the Mercado de Hacienda, bordered by Directory avenue, Murgiondo street and Eva Perón and Lisandro de la Torre avenues; one located on Jerónimo Salguero street between Au. President Arturo Illia and along via Salguero and the one on viale Corrientes between Av. Dorrego and Calle Humboldt (around Estación Villa Crespo).
