South American Cup: The seven Argentine teams already have rivals

The seven Argentine teams already know their rivals in the group stage of the Copa Sudamericana who will continue their dispute, a preliminary stage has already been played, starting on April 4th. The six originally classified, Gimnasia, Defensa, Tigre, Newell’s, Estudiantes and San Lorenzo, will participate in the next phase, to which will be added the Huracán, eliminated in the third phase by the Libertadores at the hands of Sporting Cristal.

Four South American glories took part in the draw: the Brazilian Mauro Silva, the Uruguayan Diego Lugano, the Paraguayan Ricardo Tavarelli and the Argentine Maximiliano Rodríguez. First, the seeds of each group were extracted.

Only two Argentine teams were leaders: Students and San Lorenzo. El Pincha was the third name to come out and that’s why he will be in group C, while Ciclón was the last and will lead group H. In the second combo were Newell’s and Defensa y Justicia; in the third combo, Tiger; and in the fourth combo, Hurricane and Gymnastics.
