Dibu Martínez done again. The archer of Argentina national team shone in the 2-0 victory of astonville before him Chelsea From Enzo Fernández, as a visitor. On his return to the Premier League after the appointment with FIFA and the friendlies against Panama and Curacao, the man from Mar del Plata was the great figure of the Villains, who won 2-0 in London.

There was a hug from the world champions on the way to the pitch but then the recital was given by Dibu, who was largely responsible for the Birmingham team taking all three points and waiting for the chance to qualify for a cup.

In one of his interventions, from the start of the game, Dibu risked too much off the foot but recovered immediately by saving the goal against the Ukrainian Mykhailo Mudryk with a stop that recalled the one had against the French Kolo Muaniat the end of Qatar World Cup. He opened up like a handball goalkeeper and the ball bounced off his left leg, just like a little over three months ago.

In other times, perhaps with a qualified goalscorer, Chelsea would never have lost a game like Saturday’s against Aston Villa at Unai Emerywho scored two of his three chances and had to hang on to saves from Dibu.

Eleven days before the start of the Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid, Chelsea fell back into the same problems as the whole season despite the reappearance of a player who will be useful for future commitments: N’Golo Kante. He hadn’t played due to injury since last August 14th.

Mudryk is not a goalscorer, the guy they paid 100 million euros for a couple of months ago and who hasn’t scored a single goal yet. In the first option, even at 0-0, he had the phenomenal irruption of Dibu as a pretext. In the second there is no more reason for his weak shot, already with 0-1 against, a lack of conviction representative of his momentum and his adaptation.

Chelsea played brilliantly at times, with Kovacic and Enzo Fernández pulling the strings, with maneuvers from Joao Félix and Havertz, with the speed of Mudryk, with the omnipresence of Chilwell, who shot at the post, and with the reappearance by de Kante, out of competition through injuries for seven months.

Enzo’s side had all sorts of chances to get a better result but lost and were nine points behind fifth-placed Newcastle and eleven behind fourth-placed Tottenham. All because of Dibu.
