Cordoba Belgrain presented his tribute to Rodrigo Good with an exciting message through his social networks: “Today we are proud to present you the new Club Atlético Belgrano shirt, inspired by one of the most loved idols of popular music from Cordoba and Argentina, Potro Rodrigo, in the year he would have turned fifty “.
The singer of the quartet, who was a well-known Pirata fan, died on June 24, 2000 in a car accident. Seeing as he would have turned 50 next May, the club has decided to pay homage to him with his new shirt.
The new clothing will have the same shade of blue on the shirt, pants and socks. “The details feature graphics based on Rodrigo. On the panels the figure of a foal, surrounded by stars and constellations, which give a magical and heavenly touch to the shirt”.
Likewise, the inscription “We never forget you” appears on the belt accompanied by four emojis: a pirate, the club’s shield, a heart and a foal. The new jersey will go on sale this Monday at 9am, in the physical store and on its website.
Rodrigo and his fanaticism for the Pirate
“Rodrigo always went to all the courts as a visitor when he was in Buenos Aires. He had a relationship with the players. He became a big fan of Belgrano thanks to the father of Darío Vilta, one of the boys who played the conga in his band That family has a small pasture and a little blue house in front of the field and they used to gather there long before the matches, it was very common for them to go for a beer, you always saw it there, among the people, it was always very popular,” said Pablo Iván Rodríguez, head of institutional communication of the club.
His love for the Barrio Alberdi club made him dye his hair blue, a look that became an icon for the quartet scene, a space that had him as an idol and remembers him as if he were a legend.
In 2011, when Belgrano consummated the epic ascent by winning a series against none other than River at the Monumental, Rodrigo’s face wore the shirt of Juan Carlos Olave, the goalkeeper of that historic team, second cousin of Potro.
Rodrigo was synonymous with Belgrano and this is confirmed by “Soy Córdoba”, one of his most emblematic hits, the one that speaks of every corner of the city, cradle of the quartet. “I’m from Cordoba and if you want I’ll take you to the Alberdi, where the Celestes are… My Cordovan pirate”.
