IndyCar: Agustín Canapino will race the Indianapolis 500 in a car with a Scaleneta-inspired design

There are 25 days to go before the Indianapolis 500, one of the most emblematic races in the world, and Agustín Canapino is preparing in a special way: with a fully traced car in blue and white colors in homage to the world champion Scaleneta in Qatar. “For me it’s a dream come true twice,” said the rookies of IndyCar.

“It is a pride and a great honor to represent the World Champions in the oldest and most important motorsport competition on the planet. For me it is a dream come true twice, to participate in the 500 Miglia and represent our national team which brings so much joy to us Argentines,” highlighted the reef native.

This strategic action took place between the Argentine Football Federation (AFA) and Juncos Hollinger Racing (JHR) but also makes use of the collaboration of Visit Argentina, the international tourism promotion brand of Inprotur.

“Today being able to combine two great passions such as football and motor racing in a foreign territory is a demonstration of teamwork. The AFA is proud to support an Argentinian driver in the iconic Indianapolis 500 race and wishes the best to Agustín Canapino and the Juncos Hollinger Racing team,” said Chiqui Tapia, president of the AFA.

The #78 Juncos Racing car that will take to the track in three weeks at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the 107th Indianapolis 500 will be inspired by the World Cup and will also contain the phrase “Muchachos” from the song that made it an anthem during the World Cup match played in Doha, which ended with the consecration of the Scaleneta on 18 December 2022.

“Being able to bring together the two greatest passions of the Argentines, together with the AFA and Agustín Canapino, in the most important and oldest event in the history of world motorsport such as the 500 Miglia is a dream come true. I think it will undoubtedly be a historic event for the sport of our country, which beyond any result will remain in everyone’s memory,” said Ricardo Juncos happily.

In addition to the Argentine colors in the car, both Canapino’s clothing and that of the rest of the mechanics “will follow the clothing guidelines of the Argentine soccer team,” according to Sosa.
