The second day of the Miami Grand Prix of Formula 1 started with the last training session, in which two-time champion Max Verstappen once again dominated, in which he participated Juan Martin del Potrowho in the previous one had a chat with the Mexican Sergio Checo Pérez, third in the last tests before qualifying.

Delpo he visited the Red Bull garage, the biggest dominator of the World Cup with four victories in as many races, and spoke to the winner of the recent Azerbaijan GP. Part of that conversation was shared on their social networks.

“It’s exciting to be here and hear everyone say that the best of all time is Juan Manuel Fangio,” the Argentine wrote on Twitter alongside the video with Checo, which was replicated on the official Miami GP account, referring to the five- time world champion (1951, 1954, 1955, 1956 and 1957).

On the track nobody could with Max

As happened on Friday, when he dominated the second session with the best time of the day, Verstappen demonstrated his superiority aboard the brand new RB 19 designed by an Argentine student.

With a time of 1m27s595, the Dutchman beat the Monegasque Charles Leclerc by almost half a second (406 thousandths), eighth in the final moments but managed to place the Ferrari between the two-time world champion and his teammate, Checo Pérez. Carlos Sainz, meanwhile, finished fourth.

It was a good day for the Alpini: Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly surprisingly placed their names in fifth and sixth place. More news came in the final stretch of free practice, when Valtteri Bottas (Alfa Romeo), Nico Hulkenberg (Haas) and Alex Albon (Williams) followed them in qualifying. George Russell, meanwhile, finished in the top 10 despite him dominating the morning workout the day before.

Fernando Alonso, who did not set good times with the surprising Aston Martin sneaking onto the podium in the first three races, had to settle for eleventh place, behind Kevin Magnussen and ahead of Lewis Hamilton and his teammate Lance Stroll.
