The order was given by the judge of Lomas de Zamora, Gabriel Vitale, at the request of the prosecutor José Luis Juárez, as part of the complaint filed against Benítez by his former father-in-law and his former brother-in-law. The relatives of his ex-girlfriend have told of the acts of violence that the woman has suffered, as well as other threats the player has made against them.

It’s not the first time he’s been arrested for gender-based violence

In January 2022, Benítez had also been arrested for gender-based violence. At that time, the player was reported by the father of his partner at that time to the Lomas de Zamora Public Prosecutor’s Office for injuries, trespassing on the house, threats and resistance to authority, because he attacked the police when they wanted to identify him.
