Goalkeeper Cayden Primeau has been transferred to Laval Rocket, the Montreal Canadiens announced Thursday morning.
Primeau, who was recalled by the Habs on April 24, has acted as an auxiliary goaltender in the last two games behind Samuel Montembeault.
He appeared in 12 NHL games this season and went 1-7-1 with 4.62 goal-against average and .868 percent saves.
The Rockets have an appointment with the Toronto Marlies on Thursday night, and Laval residents are guaranteed to participate in the American League playoffs.
The 22-year-old goaltender was traded to the Rockets on April 15 when Carey Price returned from a 3-0 loss to the New York Islanders.
The price went 0-4-0 with 4.04 goal-against average and .853 percent saving.
The Canadiens announced earlier this week that the star goaltender would travel to New York to visit the doctor who operated on his knee last summer.
The team should also offer an update on the status of the Price these days.
The Bleu-blanc-rouge will end its 2021-2022 season on Friday night against the Florida Panthers at the Bell Center.
