There was a lot of anticipation in Paraná for the match between Patronage AND Olympia of Paraguaykey in the fight for qualification for the round of 16 of the Libertadores Cup. But all that psychic rush literally turned into water. A flood that hit the city of Entre Ríos throughout the day this Wednesday forced Conmebol to suspend the game and reschedule it within 24 hours, possibly at the Colón de Santa Fe stadium.

The box of the ‘Presbítero Bartolomé Grella’ was visited several times by the officials of the Conmebol and by the refereeing body led by the Venezuelan Jesús Valenzuela Sáez. At around 18:00, and after evaluating various options, the decision was to postpone the meeting to Thursday and move it a few kilometers away, across the Paraná River. It will start at 19:00 (Argentina time).

Patronato wants to continue the streak in the national team against Olimpia of Paraguay, who have not won in Argentina since 1984, for the fourth round of group H.

Patronato hasn’t won two games in a row since January 24 (the final of the Argentine Cup that allowed them to qualify for the Libertadores and the first round match of the current edition of the federal tournament), and since October 23 if one counts the same competition.
