The Inspection General of Justice (IGJ) declared “irregular and ineffective” the collection made by the influencer Santiago Maratea to help the club Independent of Avellaneda and ordered the appointment of a comptroller to order and report details of the initiative which aims to raise the money needed by the club to meet its debts.
At the launch of the trust, Maratea established that the goal was to achieve the 20 million dollars pay the debts of Independiente, a club currently banned by FIFA due to the claim by América de México deriving from the payment of the pass of the Paraguayan Cecilio Domínguez, an operation that the previous management, chaired by Hugo Moianoit has not been completed.
It’s about some $5.7 million total and until this amount is paid, the Avellaneda entity will not be able to incorporate soccer players. In addition, young players over the age of 15 registered in 2023 will also not be able to perform in their categories.
Both the fans and the former players and the current members of the Rojo squad and technical staff collaborated financially through the Mercadopago account opened by Maratea.
The IGJ’s decision comes a day after learning that the Pachuca groupowner of the Mexican club and other clubs in Chile (Everton) and Uruguay (Atenas de San Carlos) reportedly made an offer for the footballer Sergio Barretto $2,200,000 for 70% of the pass. According to the accounts that had been made in the first instance, with that money plus what Maratea collected (about 800 million pesos) would be enough to pay América and remove the disqualification from FIFA. Even if now everything was subordinated to what the auditor reports and to what the Justice decides on the collection.
Maratea was on the Andy Kusnetzoff show
While the IGJ’s resolution was known, influencer Santiago Maratea was a guest on the show street dogs streamed by Urbana Play. There, a former high school classmate told an inappropriate anecdote for the Independiente trustee: she said that Maratea stole money from her classmates during breaks.
