Athlete Rebeca Andrade won the gold medal at the Artistic Gymnastics World Championship in Antwerp, Belgium

This Saturday morning, the 7th, Rebecca Andrade won the gold medal in vault during the Artistic Gymnastics World Championship, in Antwerp, Belgium. Disputing with Simone Biles, who fell and ended up with silver, the Brazilian managed to execute both almost nailed jumps, and had an average of 14.750, becoming two-time world champion. The bronze went to the South Korean Yeo Seojeong.

Happy with the achievement, the current Olympic diving champion and world champion in 2021 used social media to celebrate and thank her for the victory. “Man… It’s impossible to lay your head on the pillow every night and not thank God! I’m very happy, thank you!”she wrote while sharing photos from the podium.

Silver medal

At the World Championships in Antwerp, Rebeca Andrade also won a silver medal this past Friday, the 6th. After some small mistakes on the beam and a little step out in the last acrobatics on the floor, she scored 56.766 points. Simone Biles took gold and Shilese Jones took bronze.

The athlete celebrated the achievement on social media. “One more for us! So proud of this podium and what an important podium, right? I’m very happy and grateful… Thank you @franciscogym for believing and never giving up on me. Thank you to the entire multidisciplinary team that always does everything to make sure we feel strong and confident. I am so blessed to be surrounded by the best!”she said.

It is worth remembering that this Sunday, the 8th, Rebeca will compete in the floor and beam finals, and is a strong candidate for the medal.
