Zagallo’s son talks about the fight with his brothers over his father’s inheritance

The family of the former football player and coachMário Jorge Lobo Zagallo faces a dispute after his death, who passed away on January 5th. According to the newspaper Estadão, he left a will allocating a large part of his inheritance to his youngest son, Mario Caesarwho talked about the fight with his brothers.

In an interview with Estadão, Mário César said that the brothers’ fight started a few years ago and that he was the one who took care of his father in recent times. “They [os irmãos] are wanting to appear after seven years. I was the one who took care of my father all this time. There is a document signed by my father saying that he did not want their visits during hospitalizations.“, he said.

Mário César also told the newspaper that his father said he preferred not to leave an inheritance to his other children, but he had to follow the law.

Zagallo’s wake took place on January 7th at the CBF headquarters (Av. Luiz Carlos Prestes, 130) open to the public. Burial was in the São João Batista cemetery.
