Boca Juniors receive this Wednesday Central Cordoba in Santiago del Estero for the fifth round of the Professional League Cup, which sees them far from the teams that lead Zone B. The match will be played at the Bombonera from 7.15pm, with the refereeing by Nicolás Lamolina and the TV of TNT Sports.
Boca is one of the disappointments of the current tournament, as it has 6 points from four matches, with only one win (2-0 away against struggling Tigre) and three dismal draws against Platense (0-0), Sarmiento (1 – 1 ) and another goalless draw against Defensa y Justicia in the return of “Xeneize” at the Bombonera last Saturday.
Without the Uruguayan Edinson Cavani among the squad (excluded from DT Diego Martínez due to a stomach problem), the Boca coach will adapt the team to try another scheme, with more weight in attack.
As for Central Córdoba, the team led by Abel Balbo got their first three points in the tournament last week, after beating Sarmiento 3-0 and after three defeats in a row against Newell’s, Godoy Cruz and Platense.
Ferroviario is one of the teams that must be careful about relegation, given that last season they did not have a good championship.
