It will be the 41st final of the tours for the most successful Argentine doubles player of all time, who has a record of 20 wins and 20 losses and will have the balance in his favor this afternoon. Furthermore, he will be looking for his seventh title in this tournament category (the sixth with Granollers) and to jump to fourth place in the ATP ranking.

Curiously, the only M1000 trophy that “Cebolla” lifted without the Spaniard was, in fact, in Indian Wells and paired with what will now be one of his rivals, the Croatian Mektic.

Zeballos and Granollers have just taken revenge on the Italians Bolelli and Vavassori, who beat them in the ATP 250 final in Buenos Aires and in their debut at the ATP 500 in Rio de Janeiro. The third half was fantastic and now the victory went to Mar del Plata and the Catalans with a tight 4-6, 7-6 and 10-8. And finally in the California desert.

They will be looking for their first title of 2024 and will be shouting champions again since the last time in October last year, when they won in Shanghai (another Masters 1000), after beating India’s Bopanna and Australia’s Ebden.

The outstanding goal is still to win the Slam, with the thorn still stuck in having fallen in the finals of the 2019 US Open and Wimbledon in 2021 and 2023.

Wesley and Koolhof, meanwhile, clearly surpassed the Germans Puetz and Krawietz: 6-2 and 6-1 in just 56 minutes of play. Their big week also includes wins against Krajicek and Dodig, the second seeds. They will be a rival to fear.
