THE Copa Libertadores de America 2024 will carry out a draw to find out how the groups for the competition will be formed. With everyone ranked, next Monday 18 March Starting from 8pm, Argentina time, the draw for the group stage of the eagerly awaited continental competition will be drawn.

The 32 teams will be divided into four pots of eight teams, based on how they are ranked in the CONMEBOL table.

How are the groups of the 2024 Copa Libertadores designated?

The 32 participants will be divided into four pots of eight teams, based on their position in the ranking published by CONMEBOL in 2023. Fluminense, as the last champion, is seeded in group A, while the other members of pot 1 will lead the areas. B, C, D, E, F, G and H, and will play against an opponent from the rest of the pots. Two teams from the same country cannot be in the same area, it will only be allowed if one has arrived from the preliminary phase.

When does the Copa Libertadores start?

The group stage of the Copa Libertadores will begin in the first week of April, from Tuesday 2 to Thursday 4 and will end on date 6 of Wednesday 29 May. We will then continue with the preliminary phase, which will begin on August 14th, after the Copa América, and the final on November 30th.
