The stepfather of Medina, Charles Saldanha, is back in the championships with the surfer. After fights in the family and estrangement between him and his mother, Simone Medinaamidst the controversies, the three-time world champion was once again accompanied by his stepfather.

According to the UOL, Charles is in Australia with his stepson during the Bells Beach leg of the World Surfing Tour. As found by the website, the stepfather returned to accompany the surfer, but not as a coach, a role he held before the family split.

After this event, Charles will continue with Sophia MedinaGabriel’s sister, for the Challenger Series on the Gold Coast, also in Australia, where the surfer will compete.

In recent weeks, on March 3, he wrote a statement to his stepson on the social network. “Congratulations Gabriel, I’m always proud of you, once again you wrote history, you moved us once again with your talent and determination, the gold is on the way, keep looking forward, I love you, we’re always together”said Charles when posting a photo of the surfer.
