The United States Copa América is now upon us. And the final details of Scaloneta’s new adventure are starting to be defined in the Argentine Football Federation. For this reason, this morning Claudio Chiqui Tapia received Lionel Scaloni at the AFA headquarters in via Viamonte. Logistics, stay, transfers, the definitive list? were some of the themes.
Gone are the moments of tension. After having “stopped the ball” and reflected, the coach has already confirmed that he will continue to lead the World and American champions and now we just need to think about the team.
“Together with our coach Lionel Scaloni we begin the last planning phase to adjust the most important details for the next Copa América. Forza Scaloneta!”, wrote Chiqui Tapia on his networks, to portray the match. The same image was shared by the official account of the Argentine national team.
Scaloni took advantage of his stay in the country to refine the details of the national team’s logistics in the United States. The initial idea to stay in Florida was discarded because the Hileah complex that was planned to be used is still under construction for the 2026 World Cup. Therefore the team will move to North America depending on how it progresses in the Cup.

Argentina makes its Group A debut on June 20 against Canada at the Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta. He will arrive at the preview and will train there. The next match will be in New Jersey where it will be played for three days.
Furthermore, there will be two friendly matches to preview the Copa América. The team will face Ecuador in Chicago on Sunday, June 9th. And on Friday they will do it against Guatemala in Washington. He will then fly to the city located 640 kilometers away to begin the official competition.
The final assembly of the list was another of the topics touched upon. The Copa América starts on June 20th and the deadline is imminent: on June 5th Scaloni will have to present the preliminary squad and on the 12th the definitive one.
Pujato’s coach has already publicly confirmed two players with guaranteed places: Lionel Messi and Ángel Di María. Now the other 21 remain with one drawback: more than one world champion would be left out if we take into account that Lo Celso and Nico González join the 24 (not counting Papu Gómez, disqualified for doping and Thiago Almada who will be part of the Under 23 of Paris) who won glory in Qatar.
Added to this is the emergence of new figures with the great moment of Alejandro Garnacho at the helm who would have a place in the list.
Furthermore, after the Copa América the Olympics are approaching, where Mascherano will be able to field three seniors, and the Scaloneta players are en masse. This was another of the topics on the table at the Diego Maradona palace.
Thus, in a climate of good energy, Scaloni and Tapia are already making another adventure throb where, with the help of Lionel Messi, Scaloneta will try to continue to expand his myth.
