Maguila: rare video shows the athlete exercising

The former boxer Maguila appeared in a rare video on social media. He has lived away from fighting since he had to deal with health issues. So much so that the family decided to share an unreleased video of him during his exercise for the day.

The athlete appeared taking an outdoor boxing class where he lives in the interior of São Paulo. “Today was another day of training with our heavyweight”, they wrote in the caption.

It is worth remembering that Maguila was diagnosed with chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), which is an incurable disease and the cause may have been the blows he received to the head during his years of fighting.

Nowadays, the family maintains a profile on social media to show photos and moments from his daily life.

Pelé’s sister remembers her last conversation with him

Sister of former football player Skin (1940-2022), Maria Lucia Nascimento revealed what his last conversation with his brother was before his death. The former athlete passed away at the age of 82. Before that, he received a visit from his sister in the hospital during his one-month stay in São Paulo. In an interview with the G1 website, she recalled what their farewell was like.

“He was calm, thank God, I think knowing the process, his journey. I said: ‘I’ll be back soon’. And he: ‘It’s good’. So I said: ‘Stay with God’. And he replied: ‘Thank you, go with God’. That was the last time I spoke to my brother.”she said.

Then, she reflected on the death of her brother, who had multiple organ failure after battling colon cancer. “We all go one day, but he had God’s time for it to be peaceful and peaceful, together with his children and grandchildren. When God calls, we must be prepared to say: ‘my time has come’”, he declared.
