Mathieu Joseph built on Josh Norris ’three goals that allowed the Senators to beat the Detroit Red Wings 5-2 on Sunday in Ottawa.
This is the first career hat trick for Norris, who has already reached the 30-game mark this season.
Joseph also stood out Friday with a three-goal performance and an assist in another Senators 5-2 win against the Red Wings.
Since acquiring the Tampa Bay Lightning, Quebecer has scored three goals and five assists in six games.
Artem Zub and Nikita Zaitsev, who also had assists, also scored for the Senators, while Nick Holden and Brady Tkachuk had two assists.
Goaltender Anton Forsberg held off 30 of the 32 pucks that aimed him for the win. His vis-à-vis, Thomas Greiss, on his part repelled 31 of the 34 shots he faced.
Michael Rasmussen and Dylan Larkin rioted in the Red Wings camp. For his part, Filip Hronek was an accomplice to the two goals of the visitors.
