At the other end of the rink, Antti Raanta made 24 saves for the Hurricanes, whose road record is 0-5 since the playoff schedule began, compared to 6-0 at home.

Shesterkin only gave way to Teuvo Teravainen in the third period, on a Sebastian Aho pass. The goal allowed the Hurricanes to reduce the Rangers lead to 3-1.

However, Copp returned the Rangers to a three-goal lead with less than nine minutes left. This is his fifth goal in the playoffs.

The Rangers took advantage of a power play to open the scoring in the first period thanks to Vatrano’s goal. Fox doubled New York’s lead when he deflected a shot from Lindgren.

The hosts increased their lead in the second period when Zibanejad recovered a puck that was behind Raanta, after a save from the goalkeeper, and pushed it into the net.

Game 5 is Thursday in Carolina, and Game 6 is next Saturday at Madison Square Garden.
