The Golden State Warriors and the Boston Celtics will be the protagonists of this Thursday, at 10 pm in Argentina, an NBA final that promises to be exciting. The whole atmosphere expects a war of styles. And surely there will be. But I don’t think the Warriors are good only on offense or the Celtics are only good on defense. The two finalists have at least three players with points in their hands. Although it is true that the offensive style of the Californian franchise differs from that of one of the most successful teams in history.

The Golden State crime is difficult to control because it stands out in so many ways. From the beginning of each game, with the ball catching for his main pass Draymond Greenwho has the ability to bounce and generate in the open, always with the rest of the team in front of him.

Green poses a complication for the defense given that it is a modern intern, the one who put aside the starting rules with the opening pass to the point guard. Instead, he puts the ball on the ground and exits dribbling in speed along the axis of the field and thus creates spaces, because the defenders focus on the fearsome shooters they have as teammates.

As punchy as he is when looking at the circle and not shooting from distance, the powerful Warriors striker takes advantage of that situation and drives at will, with the time and space needed, to deliver those 6.6 assists that make him shine on every possession. . , not only in the open field but also in the still game.

Green appears to be directing traffic for his teammates. from the plank and look like string players. They do not stop moving, creating their own exits on the tents, making wide the field behind the 7.24 meter goal, distinguishing themselves and with that incredible shooting speed when you get the ballwhich makes the work of those who try to defend them even more difficult.

Klay Thompson does not need the dribbling shooting And Stephen Curry himself, besides being one of the best shooters in the world, has enough ball control to attack the substitutions and spaces that his rival gives him. It becomes very difficult to defend them.

In addition to the qualities mentioned, Golden State has an advantage: his experience in this type of finals and his coach, Steve Kerr, the style of which is appropriate for the versatile human material of the campus. Undoubtedly the game in motion suited him perfectly, without fixed positions and without a great factor of imbalance, but with an aggressive defense and mobility, like his attack of him. It is the virtues that, in my opinion, give them the best chance of adding a new title.

Of course, their rival, the Boston Celtics historians, is very brave. How come? While they have players who are always trying to run, they don’t have that brilliant defensive-attack pass that their rival has. Either way, that lower speed is replaced with tremendously strong playersthat in addition to shooting from long range, they also attack the circle and, when they finish, they perform incredibly well at the top, both in layup and floater.

This is seen in Jaylene Brown or the same Smart Marco, which enriches his game with short and long shots and his defense as an exclusive quality. He is terrible. It’s the Berlin Wall! You can’t pass it. Her attitude is different from the rest. He doesn’t see how the ball slips; he launches in search of that ball! An animal that gives your team unlimited emotional influence.

It is not a veteran team. As soon as Al Horford, 36 years old and in full swing, is the one with the most experience, being the voice of the locker room. Like Smart, he drives his fans crazy. His legs, when he goes on the offensive rebound and attacks the circle, don’t appear to be 36. In the same way he impresses when he holds a change with a perimeter. To all these virtues, in the key moments, with his open shot and the large percentage (36% in triples), he opens the field wonderfully. The Dominican is in the best moment of his career.

The Celtics’ offensive support is, how to doubt it, Jayson Tatum. A player with a lanky figure and whose overhead shot has no mistakes. He is unforgiving from long range or with his fearsome legs attacking the circle, which gives him incredible numbers and percentages.

The Boston forward also has another great quality, as seen in the series against Brooklyn networks. There Kevin Durant suffered, because at times it made him seem like an insecure player with the ball, causing him more than 6 turnovers per game in that playoff.

Celtics coach, Ime Udoka, has some peculiarities. For example, he likes to play with two big insiders who shoot outside, like white Daniele Teis and the aforementioned Horford.

His other quality and, for me as a coach, the most important in these cases: the virtue of adapting after defeat. Against the Miami Heat he proved it and won three away games.

Golden State and Boston mark something historic in the competition: these finals will be the most defensive in history. Everyone defends in these cases like never before.

The two enjoy unbalancing the players and with the points in hand. The two run, albeit much more than the Warriors. The pronounced difference is that Golden State knows these types of endings, how to play them, and how to react to adverse endings. For this group of Boston players, it’s not all that familiar ground. Although I would respect them: they are beautiful.
