CF Montreal rewarded its technical director Olivier Renard by offering him a promotion and contract extension, the team announced in a press release on Thursday.
The deal will be for an indefinite periodand financial details of the agreement were not disclosed.
He was also promoted by the Major League Soccer club as vice president and chief athletic officer, and he will serve on the organization’s executive committee.

CF Montreal also clarified that he will continue to report directly to President Gabriel Gervais.

The 43-year-old Renard was named Impact technical director in September 2019.
Prior to coming to Montreal, he was sports director of Belgian club KV Mechelen, from 2014 to 2016, then held the same position at Standard de Liège, from 2016 to 2019. He also sat on the executive board of Royal Anvers FC, as a sports consultant.
