FIFA has proclaimed itself about the controversy that has arisen around the player Byron Castillo. As announced by Switzerland, the parent company of world football has decided not to give rise to the claim of the Chilean Federation and has ratified the presence of the Ecuadorian national team at the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
The battle at the desks began on May 5, 37 days after the last date of the South American qualifiers was played. That day, the National Association of Professional Football of Chile (ANFP) sued Castillo and the Ecuadorian Football Association (FEF) before the FIFA Disciplinary Commission for allegedly “falsifying the player’s birth certificate, age and nationality certificate”.

This Friday, through a press release, the body chaired by Gianni Infantino rejected the Chilean submission at the same time it decided to close the disciplinary proceedings initiated against the Ecuadorian Football Federation.
The text was signed by Anin Yeboah, vice president of the disciplinary commission of FIFA.
In turn, the text shared by FIFA clarifies that “the judicial bodies of FIFA will issue their verdict and notify the parties without including the justification”, as can be read.

The text also clarifies that if one of the parties involved wishes to have a justification for the sentence, this must be elaborated in writing within 10 days through the secretariat of the FIFA Disciplinary Commission. Otherwise, “the decision will be considered final and binding and it will be assumed that the party has renounced the appeal”, the press release closes.
In Chile they were not optimistic about the sentence and it has already emerged that the Federation intends to appeal the sentence, extending the end of the dispute for at least another 30 days, with the start date of the World Cup hanging over the calendar.
