Salvadoran football is in mourning. Giuseppe Arnaldo Amaya, who directed a match of an amateur competition, was mercilessly beaten savagely by a player after being sent off. “I only received, by telephone, the news of what happened to my father. I was not in the field. I knew that the attacker had outraged him and then my father expelled him. Then he hit him until he fell and there he beat him to death. On the way to the hospital, my father was already seriously ill and died there. For now neither the police nor anyone has given me specific information on who attacked my father, I understand that it is for the safety of the our family. waiting … “said the referee’s son in Salvadoran media.

Arnoldo Amaya, 63, has been in charge of amateur football for more than 30 years, a profession he dedicated himself to after earning his living as a tailor.
