Arnoldo Amaya, 63, has been in charge of amateur football for more than 30 years, a profession he dedicated himself to after earning his living as a tailor.
The Salvadoran Football Association (FESFUT) issued a statement complaining about the referee’s death.
“As a federation we repudiate what happened to referee José Arnoldo Amaya and we trust that the authorities can find those responsible for the referee’s death,” said Salvadoran Football Association president Hugo Carrillo on the television program ‘The Tiki Taka’.
