CAS will hear the case of the Russian Soccer Federation on July 5, following the joint decision by FIFA and UEFA to suspend the Russian national team and professional clubs days after the outbreak of war against Ukraine in February.

Another hearing before the CAS is due to take place on July 11 and will analyze the case of four Russian clubs, including national champions Zenit Saint Petersburg, who are contesting their exclusion from future UEFA-sanctioned competitions.

The UEFA executive committee made this decision on May 2 for around fifteen European competitions. The Russian women’s soccer team has also been left out of the European Championship, which gets under way next month in England.

Lawyers and executives involved in the case have confirmed hearing dates before CAS, although the court has yet to do so.

Fast-track verdicts could be sought by clubs ahead of Champions League qualifying matches and other European competitions.

These procedures will undoubtedly lead to further challenges by Russia against the Olympic sports federations before the CAS.
