It happened at the end of the first half in Junín. There was a corner in favor of Racing, a rejection and, in the dispute over the air ball, Franco Quinteros, from the local, stretched his left elbow on Enzo Copetti’s face. Referee Pablo Echeverría didn’t charge a penalty, but I’m waiting for the VAR to be checkedby Nazareno Araza.
After about two minutes, the referee indicated the center of the field without going to review the game on the monitor. Remember the regulatory guideline: if it is a question of calling an offside, the main judge will not carry out the check. In cases like these, it must be assessed whether physical contact is decisive for a penalty, must be done.
The interpretation is clear: Araza felt he was right not to sanction the foul, so he did not invite Echeverría to control.
