Persecution
At some point in the chase, Walker would have fired a shot from his vehicle, something that the family of the deceased questioned.
Soon after, Walker got out of his vehicle and started running towards a parking lot. while the policemen chased him and fired considering it a “deadly threat” to his life, according to a statement released Tuesday by the Akron Police Department.
Walker, 25, was later pronounced dead where he fled.
The family’s attorney, Bobby DiCello, urged the protesters to remain calm and, on Friday, spoke to the local Akron Beacon Journal to provide details on the “brutal” videos posted in an effort to prepare the community.

Some of the videos that the police showed at the press conference came from the cameras that the officers wear on their uniforms.
The eight agents involved in the event have been suspended of their duties while the incident is being investigated.
protests
Akron residents took to the streets in recent days to demonstrate peacefully and ask the police to account for Walker’s death.
The mayor of the city, Dan Horrigan, canceled the US Independence Day holidays., which will take place tomorrow, July 4th.
Walker’s death adds to that of other African Americans at the hands of the police, such as George Floydsuffocated by a white police officer in Minneapolis, Minnesota in May 2020.
His death sparked the largest anti-racism protests since the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. in the late 1960s.
