“After a meeting with the board of directors, it was decided by mutual agreement to determine the completion of the technical direction of the professional team of Julio César Falcioni”, Sabalero’s social networks communicated. Already in the press conference on Wednesday, post-elimination, the TD had stated that he would meet the president José Vignatti to make a decision.

“The goal since my arrival was the Copa Libertadores and we had a very good group stage. We have come this far, but I’m leaving quietly. Today we had four fewer players than those who played the first pass, although that’s no excuse. It was a shame to lose the players we lost, because we did a great job in the first half, ”said JC.

For a couple of weeks there have been rumors of a possible departure from Falcioni, who took office six months ago. The poor results at the local level, the tense relationship with the management and an exodus of players (with a weak market) ended with the second stage of Emperor in Black (previously it had been between 2006 and 2007).

The numbers of his second passage for Colón? He directed 30 games, with eight wins, twelve draws and ten defeats: 40% effectiveness.
