Formula 1 continues official activity this Saturday for the twelfth date of its 2022 calendar, the French Grand Prix, which will take place on Sunday at the legendary Paul Ricard circuit in Le Castellet.
The activity on Saturday will consist of a new series of free practice, from 8 to 9, and qualifying tests, from 11 to 12, which will order the race on Sunday. Fox Sports and Star ++ broadcast.
The first day of free practice of the GP is already behind us, with a Carlos Sainz faster than the others, including Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen, the drivers leading the fight for the title.
In France, Ferrari appears to be one step ahead of Red Bull in setting the fastest lap on the traditional French circuit. Although that will have to be an attempt by Leclerc if the Italians want to start from the front row, because Sainz was penalized ten places for changing an electronic component of the engine.
On Sunday, 53 laps of the Paul Ricard circuit are scheduled, with 5,842 meters of rope, to complete 309.69 kilometers of the race. The lap record is held by the German Sebastian Vettel (Red Bull), with 1.32.740 in the 2019 edition.
The leader of the race is the Dutch Max Verstappen (Red Bull), with 208 points, followed by the Monegasque Charles Leclerc (Ferrari, 170), the Mexican Sergio Pérez (Red Bull, 151), the Spaniard Carlos Sainz (Ferrari, 133) and the two British Mercedes drivers, George Russell (128) and Lewis Hamilton (109).
The Constructors’ Cup is led by Red Bull with 359 units, escorted by Ferrari (303) and Mercedes (237).
