Despite being defeated in three sets 6-7 (5), 6-1 and 6-1 against the Italian Jannik Sinner, number 10 in the world, in the final of the Croatian tournament in Umag, the Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz continues with his dizzying rise in the world ranking of the ATP. This Monday he moved up to fourth position and finished behind his compatriot Rafael Nadal.
The 19-year-old player, who has just lost two finals in a row, snatched fourth place from Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas, who dropped to fifth in a ranking that continues to be dominated by Russian Daniil Medvedev, who will seek his first seasonal title this week.
