For various reasons, football was present at the most important political event of the year: the oath of Serge Massa as head of an enlarged Ministry of Economy, with several portfolios under his orbit. Furthermore Fernando Galmarini – his father-in-law -, the president of River, Jorge Britoand the technical director of Gymnastics, Néstor Gorosito.

The father of the president of River, also Jorge Brito -died in a plane crash at the end of 2020-, he was a friend of Massa and a political ally as an electoral collaborator in the 2013 electionsin which the current minister was an opponent of … Cristina Fernandez.

The DT of Gym was present for other reasons: when he was coach of the Tigre, he won the championship that brought the Superliga into playbeating Boca 2-0 at the Mario Kempes stadium.

That day was glorious for the Matador fans, the team had lost the category, but still won the Super League Cup, which they played despite technically no longer belonging to the First Division.

On the day of the consecration Massa took to the playing field and merged into an embrace with Gorosito, who since then has maintained a relationship of affinity with the politician. Today the visitor was Pipo.

More soccer men? Yes, but who has left club politics to move to public management. Mattia Lammensformer head of San Lorenzo and today Minister of Tourism and Sport; Carlo Hellerdeputy Boca until the mid-90s e Daniele Villa: former president of Independiente Rivadavia de Mendoza, until 2012.

When Massa organized the meeting between Pipo and Boric

In April of this year, Gabriel Boric, the new president of Chile, visited the country to sign various agreements with the Argentine state and passed through the Chamber of Deputies, where Massa received him. There was a funny dialogue. Boric is a fan of the Catholic University, a team in which Pipo shone as a player in the Trans-Andean country. For this reason, the new Minister of Economy thought it was a good opportunity to surprise his parents Guest with a precious gift: in front of the cameras, he promised to meet Néstor Gorosito, Boric’s idol.

“Tomorrow you will see a great friend of mine”, Massa warns him in the video that has gone viral on TikTok. To which Boric, curiously, asks: “To who?”. Without thinking about it, the former mayor of Tigre’s party replies: “To Pipo Gorosito”. At that moment the trans-Andean president interrupts the signing of some documents, turns his head to stare at Massa and reacts: “Don’t tell me. Do you really know him?”.

Massa explained to Boric the close connection he has with the current gymnastics coach. “You can’t imagine the memories I have of him”assured Boric Massa, who then told him that he had already asked Gorosito to look for a shirt from his years at the Católica to be able to take it as a gift.

And Massa’s promise to Boric wasn’t just words. The Chilean president had the pleasure of meeting Foo and ended his tour in Argentina in the best possible way.

Boric and Gorosito had already shown a good back and forth between the two when the candidate of the Social Convergence party won the presidential elections in Chile in December last year. “My sincere congratulations to the new President of Chile and especially to Cruzado !!!!!”, the coach tweeted when the election result was confirmed. Boric, fast on his feet, did not stand by and responded to one of his football references: “An honor dear Pipo. I have your fist burned into my childhood illusions “.
