Joaquín was attacked by two attackers last Wednesday at 6pm when they tried to steal his backpack on his way from school to his home in Ciudad Evita. They shot him in the face and the bullet passed through his face. He entered through the right cheekbone and exited behind the left ear. On Friday he was operated on at the Italian hospital of San Justo.
On Saturday, three days after the attack, the attackers were arrested. They are 16 and 17. They were transferred to a youth institution in La Plata. They had been filmed by a security camera when they attacked the victim, who, in testifying on the case, recalled that “he was touched from behind” while walking and that “it was all very fast”.
