Porto are looking for a dynamic midfielder to replace Vitinha and all eyes are on Racing

After a defeat against San Lorenzo that triggered the alarms in Racing and left those led by Fernando Gago seven points behind the leader, the Academy’s week begins to take on a different color. A European giant sets its sights on Avellaneda. Porto are aiming at one of the team’s figures, and also at a former Racing who could leave a mountain of euros in the club.

The targeted are Carlos Alcaraz and Matías Zaracho who today plays the Atlético Mineiro midfielder in Brazil. The former is still under Gago’s orders, but his appearance has attracted attention in Europe and from Portugal they are trying to negotiate it. Zaracho, on the other hand, left Racing in October 2020, but the “Academy” still owns a part of his pass. How many?

And in Mineiro, given the interest of the ‘Dragon’, they decided to put a bounty on Zaracho: they will only release it for 20 million euros. It should be noted that the 24-year-old midfielder was traded to the Brazilian team in exchange for $ 7 million for 50 percent of the pass. And Racing still has the remaining 50 percent.

In any case from the ‘Galo’ they deny a concrete offer from Porto, and in Brazil they assure that for now there are nothing but Zaracho’s approaches. It is not the first time that the Portuguese are looking for the midfielder, who could have his first football experience in the ‘Old Continent’. For now, the Portuguese press explains that Porto are expecting an effort from the player.

The Wilde native has amassed 16 goals and nine assists in 100 games for Atlético Mineiro, in which he also won Copa Brasil and Campeonato Mineiro. If the cast of Minas Gerais only sells the pass part of him, Racing would also receive money through the famous solidarity mechanism.

In case of transfer between clubs affiliated to different federations – from Brazil to Portugal it would be a good example -, Racing would receive 5% thanks to this mechanism.

The case of Carlos Alcaraz is different: Racing has all its passes, and the youth teams have a contract with the Juventus club until December 2026. Weeks ago talks began from Porto, and it was rumored that the Portuguese were preparing a ‘$ 15 million offer. This was denied by the management of the “Academy”.

Alcaraz, aged just 19, played 67 games for Racing and scored ten goals. There are no formal talks yet, but the Portuguese club has the idea of ​​keeping one of the two midfielders. This means that if Alcaraz wore the Porto shirt, Zaracho’s thing would not finally be done.
