Former heavyweight boxing world champion, the American Giorgio foremanshe was accused by two women of sexually assaulting them in the 1970s when they were minors, an accusation that the former boxer denied.
The complaints, obtained from the magazine People and the website TMZwere presented in Los Angeles (California) by women identified as Denise S and Gwen H.AFP news agency reported.
Denise S. claimed she met Foreman when she was eight and reported that the former boxer raped her multiple times, in various places such as a San Francisco hotel, when he was between 13 and 16 years old.
For her part, Gwen H. said she was 15 when Foreman started assaulting her.. The plaintiff pointed out that his father was an employee of the former champion and that the boxer had threatened to fire him if he did not cooperate.
Both women are demanding a jury trial claiming to have suffered injuries physical and mental at the hands of the boxer.
Foreman, 73, denied the allegations in the lawsuits in a statement to the New York Times: “Over the past six months, two women have attempted to extort millions of dollars each from me and my family. They falsely claim that I sexually abused them over 45 years ago. I firmly and categorically deny these allegations.“.
Foreman was Olympic boxing champion in 1968 and won the heavyweight crown in 1973 by beating compatriot Joe Frazier in the second round.
The American held the title until defeat in an epic confrontation against Muhammad Ali in Kinshasathen Zaire and now Congo, and ended his career in 1997, at the age of 48, with a record of 76 wins and five defeats.
